Mike Ford is a recognized expert and influential figure in the nuclear industry, with more than four decades of in-depth experience covering nuclear weapons, nuclear fuel cycles, nuclear research, strategic nuclear policy, and nuclear law. For the past 15 years, he has successfully led a prominent consulting practice focused on guiding organizations through complex nuclear projects, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency.
As host of The Nuclear Inner Critic podcast, available at Blog.Nuclear.Events, Mike provides critical, insightful analysis on transparency, accountability, and safety amid nuclear power’s global resurgence, shaping informed conversations about today’s nuclear landscape.
Mike’s distinguished public service includes a decade and a half as a governor-appointed official in Texas, notably serving 12 years as chair of the Texas Radiation Advisory Board and three years as the inaugural chair of the Texas Low Level Radioactive Waste Compact Commission. Mike has been a member of the Texas Nuclear Alliance since shortly after the group’s beginnings. He currently serves on the Executive Committee for the American Academy of Health Physics.
