Jimmy Glotfelty is a distinguished energy executive with a career spanning over three decades across federal and state government, as well as the private sector. His leadership has shaped major advancements in electric power infrastructure, regulatory reform, and energy innovation.

Most recently, Jimmy served as a Commissioner on the Texas Public Utility Commission, appointed by Governor Greg Abbott in 2021. During his tenure, he led efforts to strengthen the ERCOT system, expand transmission networks, and improve grid reliability. He also chaired the Texas Advanced Nuclear Reactor Working Group, producing a landmark report positioning Texas as a leader in nuclear energy development.

In the private sector, Jimmy has held influential roles including leading the Government Solutions Group at Quanta Services, where he spearheaded a $15 billion initiative to manage Puerto Rico’s power system. As Founder and Executive Vice President of Clean Line Energy Partners, he developed multi-state HVDC transmission projects aimed at integrating renewable energy into the grid, overseeing regulatory strategy, customer engagement, and power sales.

Earlier in his career, Jimmy held executive roles at Calpine Corporation, contributing to natural gas-fired power plant development and permitting across multiple states. At the U.S. Department of Energy, he served as Director of the Office of Electricity and Senior Policy Advisor to the Secretary, where he led national efforts to streamline energy permitting and enhance energy policy.

Jimmy has participated in high-level security exercises with DOE, NERC, and national labs, and led a team of over 400 professionals investigating the 2003 Northeast Blackout.
